If you use iCloud Drive, your signatures are available on your other Mac computers that have iCloud Drive turned on. Click the Sign button , position the pointer over the signature, then click the X to the right. The signature is deleted from all apps that use Markup on your Mac computer. If you have iCloud Drive turned on, the signature is also deleted from your other Mac computers that use iCloud Drive.
Reader lets you sign PDFs and incorporate that signature into the file. Some documents have security applied that prohibits electronic signatures. Print such documents and then sign the printed copy.
To sign a PDF document or form, you can type, draw, or insert an image of your handwritten signature. You can also add text, such as your name, company, title, or the date. When you save the document, the signature and text become part of the PDF. Click the Sign icon in the toolbar. The form fields are detected automatically. Hover the mouse over a field to display a blue box. Click anywhere in the blue box, the cursor will be placed at the right position automatically. Type your text to fill the field.
You can choose your desired color to fill the PDF form. By default, the signature color is black. To retain the default color of the signature, make sure the Retain Original Color For Signature option is unchecked. Send forms by email to eliminate printing and faxing. Store your forms in one place. Which means it still thinks you're using a PC instead of a tablet or phone screen.
So if you have the Apple pencil, you cannot use it to sign the document, but to can use it to create a stored signature that is inserted into the document. I would much rather sign on the document itself as the whole point is to sign and not insert the same exact stored copy of my signature into every document. Sort of dumb. Also when inserting a field to type in text, it doesn't seem to see the context so it just puts it on the point you touched rather than attempts to align it.
Which is odd because the Check-Box feature is very well done so they are doing context checking. Lastly, it would be nice to be able to use the Pencil instead of my finger to do the field inserts--that might be a feature, but it didn't occur when I tapped my pencil--the pencil only seemed to select and then create my pre-created signature or initials. I downloaded this app hoping it would solve that problem and be an improvement over the web version, which says it has accessibility settings but often shows the document as completely blank.
