Qbittorrent files on external drive downloading again

I usually resort to just deleting partial torrents :. In the case of those partially downloaded torrents containing "do not download" files I think it's normal for them to seem downloading if they're active. That's the way torrents work, I think. I ordered some new hard drives so this won't be an issue for me anymore but I still think there's something wrong in the way qBt behaves here.

Thank you. Skip to content. Star New issue. Jump to bottom. Copy link. What is the expected behavior: I've stopped the torrents. Steps to reproduce: Complete a torrent Set download location to an external drive mounted with external software and wait for the data to be completely moved. Stop the torrent Quit qBittorrent Unmount the external drive Start qBittorrent, and have the torrent be reported to the tracker as if downloading The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:.

I just can't accept that a torrent that I've manually paused doesn't stay paused. Sign up for free to subscribe to this conversation on GitHub.

After having seeded up to a certain ratio my downloaded torrents, I usually move the files to an external storage but do keep the torrents in qBittorrent in case I decide to re-seed some time after, and also for my torrent history to avoid downloading twice the same thing.

These torrents already downloaded but showing a 0. With the 4. It is quite annoying, and I had to select them all then "pause" them in order to "solve" the situation. I was pretty sure something like this was gonna happen with this v4 update Also I must say the logo appears to be of very poor quality on the windows taskbar. Anyway, congrats to the dev team for their great work to this major update which seems to work quite well apart from these minor issues.

Thanks for providing us with an ad-free quality tool. Sorry, something went wrong. I had this problem. Try turning off the "Keep incomplete torrents in" feature in the download options. I can't even understand how can I describe this issue. I've lost few updated files due to that. I've edited the files after they have been downloaded and paused and kept them under the same name, then at some point qBittorrent broke them.

Can't it just leave the torrent there and don't do a thing to it if it's paused? Had same issue after upgrading to 4. Now all my torrents stay in completed and will not seed for longer than 5 seconds. Dear god. It happened again. Only few hours later I noticed that it has downloaded 3 whole torrents which were previously downloaded and stopped. This time, I noticed this:. But it doesn't work right. Maybe that'll work. I think my issue might be similiar, but maybe not exactly same.

My torrents finish, and ends up in the "stalled" status which is fine because it's waiting to seed, but every now and then it re-downloads the whole torrent again! I've not had the program turned off, it's on all the time even while the files are still accessible and at the same location! I've redownloaded loads of stuff like this accidentally, and some of the files are quite big as well meaning it's eating up my bandwidth and ratio. For the love of God, add an option where you can choose to have a 'file error' rather than automatically downloading a deleted file again.

It makes QBit a pain to use. For all the crap uTorrent gets, it's insanely less buggy than Qbittorent. This is number 5 major bug thats affecting me so far.

I've changed back to 3. Don't know if that's an option for everyone though. Labels Performance. Copy link. What is the problem I have used qBittorrent for years with no issues but since v4 has been released it has trouble saving any torrent to my 8TB External drive attached via USB 3.

When qBittorrent is closed and relaunched, the torrent is again in "Queued" state. I mean Jesus I'm about to go back to uTorrent 2. This is extremely frustrating. What is the expected behavior Working like it always did before v Steps to reproduce I'm not sure if this happens with ALL externals or just something about my configuration which is unchanged and used to work fine before qBittorrent v4.

Extra info if any Please let me know if you need anything at all. My email is ihatethings gmailcom I would love to provide logs or something but don't know where they are. Thank you for your time. Zentriert changed the title [BUG] v4.

Jan 1, I'm not sure what you mean by that? Why would it be fragmented? Are you talking about the "pieces" of the torrent? You said internal which has nothing to do with my external drive nor explains why it's so slow. I really don't understand what you're trying to convey. I wanted to say that latest qbittorrent version seems to be making files extremely fragmented, which may be cause of slowness. Try downloading to a SSD drive, see if speeds are normal. I already said that speeds are perfectly normal on every internal drive I have including slow rpm drives.

Behind the scenes qBittorent is somehow moving a lot of data that apparently has nothing to do with the torrent being saved. This only occurs when trying to download a torrent to my external drive. But why is it saving the files so fragmented? What has changed? Thank you for at least confirming this, no one seems to care and I think half the devs don't comprehend English well..
